The Rico Board is a high-performance Single Board Computer (SBC) that leverages the latest TI AM437x Sitara ARM Cortex-A9 processor. This new-generation solution not only boosts performance but also builds on the widespread reuse of ARM Cortex-A8 offerings. Key features include:
- Up to 1GHz processing power.
- 3D graphics acceleration for rich graphical user interfaces.
- PRU-ICSS for industrial protocol support.
- Enhanced Vector Floating Point (VFP) unit.
- Support for a variety of peripherals and interfaces, including Quad-SPI, dual parallel cameras, and two independent eight-channel ADCs.
Rico Board – TI AM437x ARM Cortex-A9 AI Single Board Computer
The AM437x processor family includes four pin-to-pin compatible variants: the Sitara AM4376, AM4377, AM4378, and AM4379. These variants differ primarily in their options for 3D graphics acceleration and PRU support for the EtherCAT slave protocol. Users can choose the variant that best meets their specific requirements.
TI AM437x Devices
The High Performance Single Board Computer Rico board is equipped with 512MB DDR3 RAM, 4GB eMMC Flash, 16MB QSPI Flash, and 32KB EEPROM. It features a rich set of peripherals, including a debug serial port, USB 2.0 Host and Device ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a TF card slot, an HDMI port, dual camera interfaces, and an LCD interface. Two 2.54mm pitch 40-pin expansion connectors provide additional I/O options for peripheral signals such as two SPI, two I2C, two CAN, four UARTs, one MMC, and an eight-channel ADC.
The High Performance Single Board Computer Rico Board is capable of running the Linux operating system and comes with a Linux 4.1.18 SDK, including the kernel and many drivers in source code form. MYIR also provides a comprehensive Rico Board development kit, which includes the Rico Board, necessary cable accessories, an optional 7-inch LCD module with a capacitive touch screen, optional WiFi and Camera modules, and detailed documentation to facilitate rapid development right out of the box.
The High Performance Single Board Computer Rico Board can serve as an evaluation module (EVM) for the AM437x processor family and can also be used directly in your embedded products. It is well-suited for a variety of applications, including industrial automation, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), bar code scanners, portable data terminals, test and measurement devices, patient monitoring systems, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
